CAPTCHA

A CAPTCHA is a challenge-response test most often placed within web forms to determine whether the user is human. The purpose of CAPTCHA is to block form submissions from spambots – automated scripts that harvest email address from publicly available web forms.
BF Survey Pro’s “One question per page” view now works with a free plugin called Bigo Captcha to add this spam protection.
You will need to download and install and publish Bigo Captcha, which can be download from the Joomla Extension Directory:

Once installed, go to extensions->plug in manager
Make sure plugin is enabled.
(optional): You can configure size of CAPTCHA (word length)

To use CAPTCHA in your survey, edit your menu item and set “Use Captcha” to “Yes”. Please note that Captcha functionality is currently only available for “One question per page” view.

Now when you go to your survey, you should see the CAPTCHA in between email field and first question.

An incorrect entry of CAPTCHA word will result in an error message. You will need to re-enter all information for this page. A correct entry will progress you on to the next question.

10 extra options (20 in total)

The number of answer options per question has been increased to 20.

Prevent multiple entries (email)

This menu parameter allows you to prevent users from submitting the form more than once.

If set to Yes, before saving the submission the email address is checked to ensure that this user has not already completed form. If email address is found, user will get an error:

It is recommended to set “Enable Anonymous Responses” to “no” when using this setting.

Labels for rating question

The rating question type now has an extra field called “titles”. This allows us to label the options (1,2,3) with words (such as Agree, Not Sure, Disgree).

The titles must be separated by a semicolon (;) and the number of titles should match the total field above.

Answer prefix & suffix

This allows us to add characters before or after the question options.

Images in questions

You can now add an image to each question, and choose the alignment.

You need to include the full url of the image, eg. http://www.tamlyncreative.com.au/software/images/stories/food/bread.jpg

Results view with ability to delete records

In Joomla Administrator, you can now view individual results and delete records (such as test data).
Components->BF Survey Pro->Results
Select the survey category

You can click on the name or id to display a survey response.
To delete, tick checkbox next to one or more entries, then press the delete button on the right

Max Answer Length

You can now limit the number of character for a text question type. When creating the question, set the max answer length.

Now when your field is automatically added to the database table, it will be the size you set (rather than the default varchar(255).

If later you decided to increase the Max answer length, you will have to manually adjust your mySQL table.
In this example, the answer is limited to 3 characters.
