Project Snapshot
Norms Electrical and Mechanical Services needed a website that worked like a professional, trustworthy digital hub, showcasing capability, projects, products and making it easy to request a quote. The Brief
The goal was simple, make the site feel confident and straightforward, show industry credibility and help turn visitors into enquiries. The build needed to be scalable, not a one-off brochure site, with content areas that could grow without rebuilding the layout.
Approach
We started with the sitemap early, before the build was even locked in, because getting the structure right makes everything else faster and cleaner. Copy and structure were done together. As we clarified the key messages and service offering, we could map the page sections with confidence, which made the sitemap sharper and the CMS setup far more straightforward.
Copy was shaped through a deep interview session with Norm, recorded so I could stay present, ask better follow-up questions and make sure the language sounded like him, not a generic trade template. Norm even made a barista-style coffee, which was a pretty great start to the session. Along the way I learned the industry as we went, which helped sharpen the messaging and service descriptions.
From there, we mapped key content pillars into Wix Studio CMS collections so services, projects, products and resources could be managed through repeaters, keeping the experience consistent and easy to maintain as the business grows.
Otter fact:
Otters keep things simple and effective, small moves, strong results, this one was powered by coffee and conversation.
What We Delivered
What We Delivered

CMS-driven site structure
A flexible site structure was created across seven primary pages plus footer navigation, with services, projects and products managed through CMS collections and repeaters for easier long-term updates. The layout was built to support growth, so content can be updated without rebuilding pages.

Copywriting with personality
Copy and structure were developed together, giving each page a clear role before design began. Messaging was shaped around experience, safety and straight-talking service, with the tone matched to Norm’s voice, values and the practical nature of the business.

Photography and visual refinement
Existing client photos were carefully cleaned up and edited to create a more professional and consistent look across the site. This was supported by a small on-site shoot to capture extra imagery that better reflected workmanship, professionalism and the quality of the finished work.

Character-led brand personality
Cartoon versions of the team were created by photographing each person and then rendering character artwork through prompt-led development and light refinement. A dedicated charity page was also included to highlight Norm’s commitment to giving back, adding personality, heart and a more human layer to the overall website story.

Outcome
The finished site feels clear, credible and easy to navigate, with strong calls to action and content areas that can grow over time. It positions Norms as an experienced specialist team, and it makes the request a quote path obvious for new customers.
