The quick intro
If your website feels a bit like a dry orange, all pith and no juice, you’re not alone. A lot of business owners get something live, then realise it doesn’t reflect them, convert well, or feel easy to use.
Brand-rich website design is about building a site with purpose, not just pages. We bring together story, content, visuals, and clear actions so people understand what you do, trust you faster, and know exactly what to do next.
Otter fact:
Sea otter pups float while their mums dive, they’re built for safety first, then growth.
The service in plain English
Brand-rich website design is a custom website built around your brand story, your tone, and the way your audience actually takes in information.
It’s not just buttons and pages, it’s your digital home. A place that communicates your offer clearly, feels human, and guides people through a simple journey, from first impression to enquiry, booking, or the next step.
Why it’s worth doing
When a website is built from strong foundations, it becomes a streamlined digital hub that supports real growth.
It helps you show up with confidence, communicate your capabilities clearly, and back up your referrals, social posts, Google searches, and QR code moments with a site that feels aligned. It also saves time, because a well-structured site becomes something you can refer people to quickly, and keep updated without stress.
Otter fact:
Sea otters wrap themselves in kelp to stay anchored while they rest, a good website should do the same for your digital presence.
Working together
Like branding, we start with depth, then we design.
Before we write content or touch layouts, we run a recorded interview-style discovery session. This is the key step, it’s where we unpack what you do, who it’s for, what people need to understand quickly, and what action you want them to take. If you’re not sure yet, that’s normal, the interview gives us the clarity to build the site properly.
To keep things calm and clear, I use guided feedback points. When I present moodboards, concepts, or homepage direction, I’ll often send a screen recording walkthrough so you can take it in properly, pause, rewatch, and feel confident before we move forward. Written content is approved before full design builds, so the visuals and words stay aligned.
Inclusions
Inclusions vary based on your needs, but brand-rich website design often includes:
Custom design, not template-based
Sitemap and page planning
Recorded discovery interview, the foundation for messaging, content, and structure before design begins
Moodboard direction and visual tone
Copywriting support for website content, highly recommended because it’s usually the sticking point
Wireframes, or page layout direction
Homepage design and approval
Internal page design and layout consistency
Mobile optimisation once desktop is approved
Basic seo setup, meta titles, meta descriptions, indexing basics, image alt text
Image selection guidance, brand photography direction, illustration integration if it suits your brand
Lead forms and enquiry pathways
Integrations such as bookings, email platform embeds, and practical tools you already use
Quality checks, pre-launch testing, go-live support
Training support for updates, plus simple documentation for low-level edits
Any specialised functionality or custom development is discussed upfront and scoped clearly before we sign off or begin, so there are no surprises later
Otter fact:
Otters are clever problem-solvers, they’ll test, adjust, then commit, that’s the same energy we bring to planning your site properly before the build.

Approach
A brand-rich website balances story, function, and clarity.
We plan first, then design, because structure prevents chaos. We confirm the sitemap before we move forward, then shape content with purpose so the site reads clearly and feels human. From there we design with clean UX in mind, simple navigation, clear calls to action, and a layout that supports trust.
For most projects, we recommend a fresh build rather than patching an existing site with inherited issues. We can absolutely review what you have, but in many cases a clean rebuild is faster, clearer, and more cost-effective long term.
Tamlyn Creative is a Wix Studio Website Designer Accredited studio, and we build primarily in Wix Studio for its design flexibility and editor-friendly updates. Where it suits the brief, we set up tidy CMS collections so future changes stay organised. If something needs more than standard features, we can add small pieces of custom code in a focused way.
Deliverables
Depending on scope, you’ll receive:
A live website built to your approved sitemap
A consistent design system across key pages, so it feels cohesive
Editor-friendly cms setup where relevant, with guidance on how to update content
Basic seo foundations applied across the site
Connection to google tools such as analytics and search console, where applicable
Launch checks and post-launch tidy up
Optional training support via video call, plus simple documentation
Everything is supplied so it works in real-world environments, printers, web, and everyday digital use.
Otter fact:
Otters don’t just play for fun, they practice skills through play, your training and handover is part of making the site genuinely usable.
Right fit checklist
This is a good fit if:
you want a website that feels like your brand, not just a placeholder online
you want clear messaging, clean UX, and a simple journey for your audience
you’re open to planning properly so the build stays smooth and realistic
you value written content, strong visuals, and consistency across touchpoints
you can collaborate, give constructive feedback, and stay engaged through approvals
It may not be the best fit if:
you want to start building before the sitemap and scope are confirmed
feedback is vague, delayed, or shifts after sign-off
you’re hoping to patch an older site quickly, rather than fix the foundations
What to expect
A typical website project flow looks like this:
Planning and onboarding, asset checklist, access, shared folders
Sitemap planning and confirmation
Recorded discovery interview, the foundation for messaging, structure, and content
Direction stage, visual moodboard and look and feel
Copywriting and content approval, so the story and structure are locked
Homepage design and build, shared via video walkthrough for approval
Feedback and revisions, then sign-off on direction
Full site build on desktop based on approved structure
Review and consolidated feedback
Mobile and tablet optimisation once desktop is approved
Pre-launch testing across devices, links, forms, performance
Final QA and launch, then training documentation for basic updates
Timeframes vary based on scope, your responsiveness with feedback and content, and our current capacity. Most projects land in the 8 to 12 week range.
